What to do when you feel weak and loss?

There are moments when we feel lost in the path we choose. I have experienced this not just once but few times since I took my own path. Things don't always go the way we want it to, I failed my first business and decided to close down the company. It took me a few months before I move on because I keep holding on to the failure and afraid of starting another one again. People around me advised me to just get a job, some of them done that out of concern, some of them just want to prove their prediction on my failure. No one guiding me on what to do in those situation, how to make my own way.

It's tough when I have to experience most of the things on myself and learn through mistakes. For me, all the lessons are valuable as it makes me feel stronger spiritually and technically. I'm able to stand back up in a shorter time when I lose in the middle of the path again, technically I'm accumulating more skills and knowledge to handle the new challenge.

1.    Accept that we are not perfect

We have to accept that we are not perfect, it's fine to make mistake. The important thing is we learn through the mistake and try not to make the same mistake again.

2.   Reading

When there is no one guiding me on how to move on, I learn it through reading. Due to cash flow issue, I go to the bookstore and buy those books on clearance or discount. Or surf the internet to get information on what I'm going through and how to proceed. It's part of the reason why I create this blog, with the hope of helping those having similar experiences. You don't have to follow exactly the way in any source, it just a medium to help you figure out our own way. After all, it's your own path, no one else will know the best path as you do.

3.   Learn something

Learn something that will be useful for the path you want to take. I bought course in a discounted price, search for free tutorial as well. Whatever method it is, learn something when we feel loss, just don't let the time pass without doing anything. I have to admit that I wasted a lot of time before I figure out what I gonna do when I feel lost again. So, I state this point here to remind myself. The skill we learn will benefit us when the opportunity comes.

4.   Meditation

This method I learned it while surfing. As a beginner to meditation, we don't need to do exactly like those with experience in meditation. We can just sit still, take deep breath and count our breath for 5 minutes, let our brain focus only on a simple task. This will let our brain have a rest rather than keep thinking on problem. Of course, you can continue with advanced meditation when you are ready for it.

5.   Take small step

One thing that I learned and feel it's very important to me is to take small step. I always plan a lot of things ahead before starting a thing, but that actually make the plan go down the drain because the more I plan the more obstacles I discover and in the end, the plan never get to start. So, I learned to break down all the plans into small parts. For example, to slim down,  started off with skipping breakfast, 10 minutes of exercise each day. When I started to get used to it, I will start with stricter diet and increase the time or difficulty of exercise. If we start off with big steps, we tend to not start or give up soon due to the difficulty to achieve it. So, start off with small step and increase the difficulty from time to time.
